I lie to myself. Sue me.
In my experience, an attempted compromise with the universe to “just please let me just get through this race/deadline/specific month and then I WILL take some time off” inevitably results in me reneging on that promise and then ultimately to injury. You would think I’d learn by now. But then, obligations come up and runs are scheduled, and it’s all you can do to try to keep it together.
These past few weeks have called on my reserves of good karma, back up supplies of energy, and fantastic support networks like you wouldn’t believe. Thank you to everyone who’s witnessed some sub-par behavior and still treated me like my best self.
But things heal, yoga is starting to feel good again, and I’ll be damned if I don’t have some fun.
Next up: Leatherman’s Loop 10K in Cross River this Sunday, May 1.
