Despite Frankenstorm, No Plans to Cancel Marathon
As Hurricane Sandy is about to smack New York with supremely high winds and flooding rain for at least 24 hours, the important news for runners is that it’s still very much expected that Sunday’s ING New York City Marathon will go on as scheduled. From foreign entrants especially, race director Mary Wittenberg said today, “we are seeing some questions about ‘will the marathon go on,’ and answering ‘yes.’”
